Tackle The Senate Finance Reform Bill Today
Monday, April 12, 2010 at 08:01AM Dear Patriots,
This information has been provided to you by way
of Amy Kremer of Tea Party Express. They have set up a great
conference call to equip each of us about the travesties of the Senate
Finance Reform Bill.
Bottom line, the target of the
reform (or control) will be any business that offer credit for their
services. Cars, pesticide, lawn care...any business that
receives payment after services will be affected.
Curiously,
the only agencies that are not touched by the bill are Freddie Mac and
Fannie Mae. Curious, the bill is proposed by Sen.
Dodd.
Fight hard, my fellow patriots. Today
is the day. The letter from Amy Kremer follows.
Karin
Hoffman and the DC Works For Us team
Friends,
Congress is back
in session and once again, on the fast track to
take away some of your
freedoms and liberties. They think we are not
paying attention and are
going to let them scoot this nonsense past
us. It is up to us to stand
strong and stop their attempt at
creating a PERMANENT bailout
fund of $50 BILLION dollars! Yes, you
read that correctly!
THIS IS TARP all over again!
Senate Bill 3217,
also
known as the Restoring American
Financial Stability Act of 2010, was
introduced by Democrat Senator
Chris Dodd of Connecticut. This bill
may come to the Senate floor as
early as today. Once it comes to the
floor, it can be voted on 72
hours later. Time is of the essence in
this matter!
You know the drill...we need all hands on deck to be calling,
faxing, and emailing. The list of targets is listed below. If you
call a Senator's office and they tell you that they don't represent
you, please politely let them know that their vote affects all
Americans. You may also remind them of the power of the people...Senator
Scott Brown's election and Congressman Bart Stupak's retirement are
great examples!
You can read Senate Bill
3217 HERE.
Do you want to know more specifics on this
horrendous legislation that is being shoved down our throats?
Just to give you a few examples of the horrors included in this
legislative power grab...if passed, this
will allow the federal government to access your personal bank records,
credit card records, and financial portfolio! This will allow for takeovers
of "nonbank" companies and the government will determine this on a
case by case basis and there is no judicial review required to take
over any financial institution. This legislation will also create a
PERMANENT $50 Billion Dollar bailout fund (emergency fund) that the
federal government can tap into on a whim. Where is the oversight?
There is much more than this, but this should give you a taste of
what they are attempting to do with this legislation.
What are you going to do to stop this? Please call, email
and fax today! This cannot wait another day.
Please also email the Chief of
Staff for each of these Senators.
They need to hear
from you!

Dear Patriots,
We, at DC Works For US, are very concerned over the events that have occurred this past week, starting at our DC Works For US/Aventura meeting last Tuesday and then communication that took place from that date. Pam, the leader of this group, has sent this message on to her group and to us.
We look forward to seeing you at Wings Plus tonite at 5:00 to meet Edward Lynch in the final 2 days until the election.
Your fellow patriot,
Karin Hoffman and the DC Works For US team
The following is from our DC Works For US/Aventura group:
"Thanks to all who have been volunteering on the Ed Lynch campaign in these last crucial moments. Meet us at Wings Plus in Coral Springs 5:00pm today, Sunday, April 11th, as we are Wingin' It Up with Ed. Get your signs for your precincts/polling places there for the April 13th election.
UPDATE:
As those of you know who attended our last meeting we had invited District 20 Congressional Candidate, Brian Reilly. Brian stood up DC Works For US -Ventura without so much as the courtesy of a phone call, although, he was previously given the restaurant name & phone number.
I now know, by way of Twitter and Facebook, that he attended a fundraiser for Attorney Bill McCollum. He said he could not break away from an event, although, it was merely a fundraiser for the Attorney General and he had already committed to speak with us as potential constituents.
He used the McCollum fundraiser as the excuse for not making it to our meeting on time in a two sentence excuse. As far as I know, he was not responsible for throwing the fundraiser & it would have continued on without his presence. I was, also, quite shocked when his staff questioned myself & Karin H about an e-mail one of our members sent out stating the truth about Brian standing us up. Their e-mail had a threatening tone to it. We, DC Works For US, believe in the First Amendment & question why this would be a problem for any Constitutional candidate.
One would think Brian, himself, would have called me & apologized for this blatant disregard of his commitment. to our group. I, like many of you, attended the Debbie Wasserman Townhall and experienced the total disrespect DWS has for us,the common voting folk. I would hate to think that anybody that might take DWS's place would have the same mindset. I have not received a sincere apology from Mr. Reilly himself explaining why he could not tear himself away from another candidates fundraiser when he had already had an obligation to us, as per his request."
Regards,
Pam ER
